In Baptism all people are ordained by the Spirit and empowered by the gifts of the Spirit. Jesus, before leaving us, commanded those who followed (and that’s us in today’s world!) to carry on his ministry here on earth. All Christians are “ambassadors for Christ” -- called to continue his ministry of reconciliation (2Cor.5:16-21).
Participation in God’s ministry may take different shapes and have people assume different roles. The form of ministry depends on the talents and Spiritual Gifts each person has received in relation to the unique and specific needs of his/her community of faith.
God has called each of us to participate in life-giving, life-saving, and life-fulfilling ministries, and He has not left us to our own devices, but wants to empower each of us to assume those ministries in His name..
Do you know what your Spiritual Gifts are and how they can be used to carry out God’s work at your place of employment, in the community, the world, and the church?
The Stewardship Circle has planned a four-session course to help you discover the Spiritual Gifts and talents you can utilize to do the ministry of Jesus Christ wherever you may find yourself, and to help God’s church grow both here and in the wider world.
We feel especially blessed that Dolores Curry, who has had much experience as a Spiritual Gifts discovery facilitator, has agreed to lead the sessions.
We will be meeting on June 4, 11, 18, and 25 in the Charney Room during the Forum hour -- 9:15 to 10:15 AM.
We promise the course will be interesting, enlightening, and fun, and when completed, will reveal gifts to you that you may never have dreamed you had!
Please register for the course by May 30. You may call the Parish Office (610/253-0792), or fill out the form below to let us know of your interest. Thanks.
